My Dining Room Table Has Been Discolored By The Sun. What Can I Do To Even The Color Out?

Help! My dining room is on the east side of the house and although I keep the blinds closed until close to 1:00 p.m. every day, apparently enough light got in to discolor my table. I just took my runner off to change to a new one and I have a nice, long, 12″ wide several shades lighter streak running the whole length of my 96″ table where the sun apparently darkened the part showing.
Is there anything I can do to either speed up the darkening of the center, or polish it out so that it blends?
I am just sick about this – the table is only two months old.
