Soft furnishings and furniture are not to be recommended in a conservatory due to fading from exposure to the sun and the risk of heat damage is quite real. The sun’s energy through glass can be focused to the extreme. Cane or rattan furniture with cushions fitted or scattered is ideal for conservatories and woven seagrass is much more durable to exposure and very comfortable. Rattan can be harvested from the vine after it’s grown a metre or two, which allows it to re-grow, making it a potentially sustainable material. Check the origins from the conservatory furniture supplier before buying. Bamboo is a lump-forming grass that is easily cultivated. You might even grow your own.
